Air Quality Monitoring for Colorado Department of Transportation

ADVM2 environmental consultants designed, constructed, and installed the particulate monitoring system for the Colorado Department of Transportation Twin Tunnels Project near Idaho Springs.  An upwind and downwind station were installed to monitor particulate matter concentrations.  Each station consisted of a MetOne BAM PM₁₀ particulate monitor and a simple meteorological set.  All of the data was transferred into the ADVM2 database via cellular telemetry and available via secure web interface.  The system was designed to identify increases in particulate matter and generate email and SMS alerts which would trigger dust control mitigation measures at the site.
